It is set to run August 30th through September 4th.

The fair offers something for everyone from food and games to music and rides.

This year Columbia County Fair will open up on Wednesday August 30th at the fairgrounds in Chatham and will offer some great entertainment everyday including the painted pony rodeo, monster tractor pulls, demolition derbies, the Cincinnati Circus and a whole bunch more, according to the Daily Freeman.

This year entertainment headliner is Travis Tritt, who will be performing on Sunday September 3rd at 7 p.m. at the grandstand.

If you would like to enjoy the Columbia County fair this year at a discounted rate you can know buy advanced tickets at many local locations like, Agway stores, Bank of Greene County branches, Price Chopper supermarkets, Ginsberg’s and Taconic Valley Lawn & Garden and at the fair office at the fairgrounds off state Route 203.

You can also buy discounted tickets throuygh the mail by sending in a check and a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the Columbia County Fair Secretary, P.O. Box 257, Chatham, N.Y. 12037. Here is the form you will need, for more information check out the fairs website.

Fair Manager Angelo Nero told the Daily Freeman that this year advanced tickets will cost $8 and they can be used any day of the six day fair.
