We can finally reveal details about a top secret movie wrapping up production in the Mid Hudson area this week.

If you remember a few months ago we told you about a mysterious casting call that was asking for 50 local residents to serve as "prisoners" for an unnamed film. According to the Hudson Valley Film Commission, that casting call generated over 1,800 resumes. The response was the largest they had ever seen.

We can now reveal that the background actors were needed for a scene filmed at the Ulster County Jail for an upcoming film called Furlough. According to IMDB, the comedy is about an inmate that is given one weekend out of prison to see her dying mother. An inexperienced corrections officer is tasked with the tough job of keeping her under control.

Online listings about the project only credit Melissa Leo as one of the actresses in the film, playing the part of Jane. We've found out, however, that the movie also stars Academy Award winning actresses Whoopi Goldberg and Anna Paquin. Westworld's Tessa Thompson and La La Anthony will also have roles in the film.

The movie was shot in the Town of Ulster as well as Pine Plains, Kingston and other local towns. Furlough was written by Barry Stugatz who also penned the romantic comedy Married to the Mob.

Four more feature films will start shooting around the Hudson Valley in April including "Departures," which will star "Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams.  Stay tuned for more updates about production locations and casting calls. We will post the information as soon as we're allowed to.
