As New Yorkers, we should get vacation time for this kind of holiday.

Did you know January 11th, 2021 to January 17th, 2021 is National Pizza Week? Neither did I until I stumbled across a post from Thrillist. They break down some of the biggest pizza deals for National Pizza Week 2021.

For instance this week at Pizza Hut you can enjoy their famous Stuffed Crust Pizza (large) for just $11.99 or a large 3 topping pizza for $9.99. Offers.com explains that Domino's Pizza is offering a carryout pizza "with up to three toppings on any of Domino’s five crusts, for just $7.99 each."

But let's all be honest, local small pizza shops in the Hudson Valley are better than any of those national companies.

Growing up in New York we know that the water makes all the difference when it comes to pizza (and bagels too, but that's for another day).

If there were a pizza battle going down in the Hudson Valley, which pizza would you pick?

Growing up in the Spackenkill area, I grew up on Umberto's of Mamma Marisa's Pizza on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. Sadly, it closed up shop back in 2019. So I'm now on the hunt for another great pizza place.

Touch of Naples is known for their big slices in Hyde Park while Pizza Mia in Newburgh is the talk of Orange County with their extremely unique pizzas that are made with toppings like Hot Cheetos, Mozzarella sticks, and even some dessert toppings.

Where's your favorite Hudson Valley pizza shop?
