Does someones health condition affect haggling?

Every Wednesday on the Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show we try to do our part in saving a fellow Wolf listener the copay for their therapist by turning the show over to your issues every Wednesday.

We call it, "We Gotcha Wednesday" and to be able to give out useful advice we need your help each week trying to tackle a fans problem. Some weeks its on the serious side, other weeks not so much, so let's dim the lights, light a candle and try to help this guy out. Here is the email Ryan sent into us....

"Guys, a few weeks ago my refrigerator went at the house so I started to look around on social media for a new one and I came across one on Facebook Marketplace for $250. The post said it was nearly new, stainless steel, sweet deal for $250. I contacted the seller and told her that I needed to see it before I bought it and she agreed. When I got to her house to check it out, I found out the woman I spoke with on the phone was sick. As we talked for a few minutes I figured out she was battling a really bad illness, it wasn't covid. I felt awful for her, BUT I'm a haggler, and I was looking for a deal. So, I asked if she'd take $175 for the fridge. She agreed.

Here is my problem, am I a jerk for trying to get a better deal from a sick woman? I didn't even think about it until later that day, but now I realize, maybe it wasn't the right thing to do."

Would you have haggled with this woman like Ryan did? He didn't do anything wrong, right? If you have any advice or words of calming for Ryan please call or text us through the Wolf mobile app and lets try to put his mind at ease...LOL!
