According to the New York State Police, following being stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation, it was discovered that Cuffie was in possession of marijuana which then led to a search for probable cause whereupon nine credit cards in his name where uncovered and further investigation revealed that five of those were fraudulent. Cuffie failed to return to court to answer these charges and a bench warrant for his arrest was issued from the Town of Monroe Court.
