A Wappingers Falls man was sentenced to federal prison for the distribution of child pornography. Officials say the man also sent emails discussing kidnapping and raping young boys.

According to the prosecution, Between July and November 2014 Matthew Goldfarb, 24, distributed child pornography over the internet. A search warrant of his computer revealed 455 images and 748 videos containing adults performing sex acts with young children.

Goldfarb pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography in June of 2015 and was released on home detention prior to sentencing.

In August of 2015, while on release, Goldfarb resumed trading child pornography over the internet. The prosecution says, Goldfarb created a new email account and used a tablet, which he hid under his bed, to access the internet and trade child porn.

In one email exchange with another individual interested in trading child pornography, Goldfarb wrote, “I got arrested for porn so I am not supposed to use the internet. I use a tablet bc I can hide it.”

A search warrant in October 0f 2015 led to the discovery of 540 images and 102 videos containing child porn that Goldfarb sent or received between August and October 2014.

Emails also revealed a series of exchanges where Goldfarb discussed ideas of kidnapping and raping young boys. He also wrote how his time in prison would give him time to come up with ideas to commit such crimes.

In federal court Goldfarb was sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was also sentenced to a lifetime of supervision after his release and ordered to pay $24,000 in restitution to victims of his crime.
