They say it takes a village, and that is exactly what is needed for the upcoming playground renovation project at Hasbrouck Park in New Paltz.

In speaking with Village of New Paltz Trustee, Michele Zipp, the original playground was built 25 years ago (see photos below), and some of the items have gone through repairs and even had to be removed due to safety concerns over the years.

Michele states, "Our DPW has taken great care to maintain the playground, but the time has come to rebuild so we can have a playground continue to be a vital part of our community for generations to come."

This is where we come in.  Volunteers of ALL skill level are needed to make this happen:

We were able to cover most costs for the initial build thanks to rec fees paid to our Village from new businesses being built, but the labor is all volunteers. So we are calling on our community to come together in this beautiful way to build the playground. We do have the guidance and reps from Leathers -- the company we are using, the same company we used when it was first built. Time and technology have changed since then, and the new playground will be safer and more accessible for kids of all ages and abilities.

The build will be happening September 25th - September 29th, and to sign up for a shift or 2, CLICK HERE!
