Instagram Video Details Story of Strange Poughkeepsie, NY Encounter
Antonietta Guerriero Golia took to social media after what she explains was a "horrible attack" outside of the Rainbow Shop in the Hudson Plaza on South Road on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie.
In the video, Golia details how a woman approached her in the parking lot. The woman asked if Golia could take a picture of her, to which Golia agreed. In a now-viral video, Golia states the woman was posing for the photo in a weird spot on the sidewalk.
After questioning the woman's photo location, Golia attempted to take several photos.
There was some confusion on Golia's part as 2 buttons on the screen were making it difficult to see the woman posing. Goila continued to swipe on the phone while the woman posing insisted it was fine and kept pushing Goila to take the photos.
Goila proceeded to bring the phone close to her face and snap the photo. The woman then took her phone and Goila walked away.
This is where the story takes a scary turn.
Parking Lot Encounter Turns Into a Medical Emergency in Poughkeepsie, NY
In the video, Giola states that after 5 steps she was overcome by an uncomfortable feeling. She explains a feeling of numbness in her fingers and a hot flash through her body.
She felt her eyes start to roll as if she was going in and out of consciousness along with a "strong chemical smell and taste" in her throat.
Giola states:
I knew right then and there that I got snagged. That I got drugged.
Giola thought the worst, with thoughts of fentanyl contact in her mind. She stumbled to her car and called her husband when she began to slur on the phone. That's when 911 was called.
According to Giola, the EMTs took her vitals and noted that her tongue allegedly "looked green." She states she was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
After hours of waiting and no test being done, a frustrated Giola left the hospital on her own accord and took her own drug test. The at-home urine test allegedly came back positive for drugs in Giola's system.

Giola did speak to Police who she says have to go through Price Chopper's corporate levels to get security video of the incident. Security footage was taken from Rainbow Shop according to Giola, but only their legs were seen on screen.
The police tell Giola that there is a possibility she could have allegedly been a part of some kind of Sex Trafficking situation explaining that a place like Rainbow could be targeted because young women shop there.
Since the video was shared on Instagram back on July 30th, 2024, it has racked up over 200,000 views, 7,320 likes, and hundreds of comments of support from the Hudson Valley community.
In the comments, Giola describes her alleged attacker as a "Caribbean Jamaican" woman "about 20-32 thick with braided long hair to her butt."
