Have you ever been to a film festival? How about a dance festival? Chances are, living in the Hudson Valley, you probably have been to one or both such festivals. How about a film and dance festival that not only has powerful performances but also shines a light on actors, dancers, and performers who have disabilities?

A unique film and dance festival, entitled “ON DISPLAY with A Taste of ReelAbilities,” sponsored by the Human Rights Commission of Sullivan County, is coming to the Hurleyville Arts Centre on Oct. 13 & 14.

Together, the Hurleyville Arts Centre, Heidi Latsky Dance and ReelAbilities, want to help raise the consciousness of our community about people with disabilities and all that we have in common, through some powerful films and performances.

This two-day festival will kick-off Friday night with film screenings and discussions, while dance will take center stage on Saturday. There will be ASL interpretation, audio description, and information in Braille are available upon advance request. Plus, all films are captioned. Admission is $35 for all events while single day film passes are $12 and dance passes are $20.

This a unique opportunity for the Hudson Valley as ReelAbilities is the United States' largest film festival dedicated to showing films by or about people with disabilities while Heidi Latsky Dance continue to redefine beauty and virtuosity through performance, discourse, and education, using performers with unique attributes and contemporary dance to diverse audiences.
