22-Year-Old Dies In Tragic Ulster County Motorcycle Crash

A tragic motorcycle crash in Ulster County has claimed the life of a 22-year-old Poughkeepsie man, and now New York State Police are hoping witnesses can help piece together exactly what happened.

According to New York State Police, troopers from the Highland barracks responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Route 299 in the Town of Lloyd at approximately 9:29 p.m. on Monday, June 1st, 2026.

Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Highland, NY

Upon arrival, police confirmed that a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Route 299 when it struck the rear of a dump-style trailer that was traveling in the same direction. Police said the motorcycle hit the trailer at a high rate of speed, causing the rider to be thrown from the bike.

The motorcyclist was later identified as 22-year-old Felix A. Amaro Soriano, of Poughkeepsie, NY.

First responders immediately began life-saving measures at the scene before transporting Soriano to the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Despite those efforts, police said he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
