Ulster County Government Wants to Hear from You, New York
It is not often that the public gets to weigh in on public transportation. Recently UCAT (Ulster County Area Transit) has the public to do just that, weigh on new bus routes.
If you aren't aware UCAT is the public transportation that travels town to town in Ulster County assuring that people who need transportation have some read;y available. UCAT has even been known to make special events available to those needing a ride. Each year for the Ulster County Fair they add times and routes.
UCAT Service Looking For Public Input on New Routes
Right now UCAT is in the middle of asking the public to weigh in on new route plans that are being designed to improve the system and the rider experience. There is an online survey that you can connect with and you are encouraged to take a survey to help with the plan.
The Ulster County Area Transit and the Ulster County Transportation Council have developed a plan that aims to improve routes, schedules, and services– and your input is key! Residents are encouraged to visit the online survey to learn about and evaluate these preliminary routes and share feedback now through Dec. 20. (UCAT via Facebook Ulster County Governement)

For more information about using UCAT, updated routes, and even access to live service maps while buses are running go to UCAT.UlsterCountyNY.gov. UCAT travels out of Ulster County including Poughkeepsie and Newburgh.
There are also specialty routes that a seasonal such as the Ulster County Fair Bus, and this time of year the Bellayre Express. The Bellayre Express is running now through April 13, 2025, it is free to ride and runs 4 times a day making seven spots on its way to and from the mountain.
