Ulster County Correction Officer Exam Date Announced

If you're looking for a job as a corrections officer in the Hudson Valley, this may be your chance.

On Wednesday, September 5th the Ulster County Personnel Department released the dates for their next Corrections Officer exam.

The exam will take place on November 17th, 2018. There is a $40 fee to take the exam and your last day to apply is October 10th, 2018.

As with most jobs there are some requirements. Candidates must have a high school diploma or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. You must also 21 or older and have a a valid New York State Driver's license at time of appointment.

Along with the written exam, candidates will be asked to complete a panel interview, substance abuse test, medical and physical fitness test, a psychological evaluation and a criminal background investigation.

Starting salary is listed as $21.30.
