Two men were arrested for drug possession following a one-car crash on the Taconic State Parkway. 

The New York State Police responded to investigate the crash and found the car stopped in the lane of travel. Once completing an initial investigation, police said they found the driver of the vehicle impaired by drugs. He was also in possession of heroin and a syringe at the time of the crash, according to authorities.

Santino J. Campanaro, 24, of Yonkers was the driver in the crash. He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument. The passenger in the vehicle, Justin Zambardino, 26, of Wappingers, was also arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.

Both men were issued appearance tickets for future court dates next month.
