I love discovering new artists, new-to-me artists, historical recordings, amazing covers, powerful tributes, you name it, I will listen to it.  I Shazam music all the time. I am a music fan and I have a very eclectic personal music collection of artists, albums, and songs.

So with all of this in mind, I thought I’d share some of my music with you in hopes that you will share some of your music with me. Last week, I was in new Christmas music heaven but this week, as we get ready to say goodbye to 2016, I thought I'd take a look at my favorite songs of 2016. This certainly isn't the only list of the best songs of 2016, it's just my list.

Miranda Lambert's newest album, a double album, is amazing and powerful as the first single from the album hinted it would be.

Vince Gill released his latest album 'Down to my Last Bad Habit" at the beginning of the year and I have listened to it over and over. The title track is one of my favorites in 2016.

Maren Morris rocks. Plain and simple. Her debut album was another that I bought this year and listened over and over to. Not a bad song on that album.

Chris Stapleton released his first music video this year. To say that it was powerful is an understatement. Chris said in an interview that he didn't want to star in it, he had something else in mind. 'Fire Away'.

Carrie Underwood released this song in April of 2016 and I loved it the first time I heard it.

This has to be one of the best titles of a Country song ever! Dustin Lynch 'You Look Like I Need a Drink'. The song itself doesn't disappoint either.

Sam Hunt makes my list for the year with this song released at the beginning of summer.

When I found out that Kenny had recorded a song with Pink, I was excited. They didn't let me down.

This tops my list. Amazing song and message, both visually and lyrically. Tim McGraw 'Humble and Kind".

As I mentioned at the beginning, this isn't meant to be an all-inclusive list, just my favorites for 2016, the ones I played over and over in my car and the ones I played really loudly when they came on during my show. What were your favorites of this year?
