Travis Tritt was shaken but thankfully unharmed after his tour bus was involved in a fatal accident on a South Carolina highway in the early hours of Saturday morning (May 18.) The crash killed two people.

According to Tritt's Twitter, the accident occurred after he finished a show at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach., S.C. As his tour bus was leaving town, a Jeep driving the wrong way down the highway collided head-on with a pick-up truck in front of the bus. The vehicle carrying Tritt and his team incurred only minor damage as the driver navigated the wreckage ahead of them, and no one on board was injured. However, according to TMZ, the driver of the Jeep and the passenger of the pick-up truck both died.

"I feel so bad for those who died and their families," Tritt commented on Instagram. Two human beings died tonight for no reason other than stupidity. I'm saddened beyond belief!"

On Twitter, Tritt also spoke out about the fact that the accident was caused by someone driving drunk or otherwise intoxicated. "Just a sober reminder to everyone to never drive if you've been drinking or are impaired in any way. Uber or Lyft is just a phone call away," he implored. "I beg everyone to please, please please drive sober. Know when to admit that you are too impaired to drive."

Additionally, Tritt expressed how thankful he was that everyone on his tour bus survived without any injuries. "We only were sideswiped in tonight's accident. It could've been so much worse," he tweeted. I praise God for keeping us safe!"

Tritt is expected to make his next 2019 Outlaws & Renegades Tour stop on Saturday evening in Hiawassee, Ga., along with the Cadillac Three.
