Trace Adkins, Kris Kristofferson Star in New Film, ‘Traded’ [Exclusive Premiere]
If you want to see more of Trace Adkins, this summer, you'll have the opportunity to see him on the big screen alongside Kris Kristofferson in new film, Traded. The Boot is exclusively premiering the movie's trailer, which promises plenty of gun-slinging, train-jumping action.
Traded, a vengeful Western directed by Timothy Woodward Jr., takes place in Kansas in the 1880s. According to the director himself, the film is the Western version of Liam Neeson's Taken: Sharpshooter-turned-rancher Clay Travis (Michael Paré) goes from a happily married father of two living a peaceful life to a man on a mission after the tragic death of his son and the disappearance of his daughter. He is determined to bring his daughter home and protect what little family he has left, so Travis leaves his quiet ranch and heads to Wichita and then onto Dodge City, encountering "ruthless" Ty Stover (Adkins) and an unlikely companion, an old barkeep named Billy (Kristofferson), along the way.
“As a small-town boy growing up in South Carolina, I was weaned on all the classic Westerns. So, to have the opportunity to helm an emotionally freighted story of frontier revenge set in the 19th century was more than a dream come true,” says Woodward Jr. “The highlight, obviously, for myself and the entire cast and crew was to watch a true legend, Kris Kristofferson, ply his trade in the same boots he wore in one of his first starring roles in Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid.”
Traded was filmed in California and New Mexico, including locations in the Yucca Valley, Paramount Ranch and Big Sky Movie Ranch. In addition to Adkins, Kristofferson and Paré, the cast includes Tim Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down), Quinton Aaron (The Blind Side), Martin Kove (The Karate Kid trilogy) and Kristofferson's daughter, Kelly Kristofferson.
Traded is from Cinedigm and Status Media. It will open on June 10 in New York City; Los Angeles, Calif.; Chicago, Ill.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Dallas, Texas; Washington, D.C.; Houston, Texas; Phoenix, Ariz.; Denver, Colo.; and Kansas City, Mo. It will also be available on demand and Digital HD.
