Good news for folks living in and around Tillson. The Tillson Volunteer Fire Department has planned a safe and COVID cautious way for you and your little trick or treaters to enjoy Halloween.

Over the past few weeks a number of area fire departments announced that they have a plan for their communities to be able to enjoy Halloween and not miss out on Trick or Treating. The Tillson Volunteer Fire Department has officially join the list of Hudson Valley Fire Departments offering a safe alternative to door to door trick or treating this Saturday.

On Saturday the Tillson Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a contact free drive thru trick or treating event. The fire house located at 5 Tillson Road will be the site of this Halloween fun. The fire department has promised candy, decorations and they hope you will enjoy all that they have planned. People who attend must wear a mask and your will also be required to stay in your car or truck. The event is planned for Saturday from 4 PM to 6:30 PM.

Most communities are trying to make it possible for kids to enjoy Halloween. This year just about everything has been a challenge. Fortunately, as the year has gone on we have been able to figure out clever ways to enjoy traditional fun with some untraditional ideas. The creation of drive thru trick or treating has meant that lots of Hudson Valley kids will be able to fill those goodies bags this Halloween. What would be funny is if we enjoy it so much we keep the drive thru tradition post COVID.
