Real roads have curves.

And it looks like that one of, if not the, curviest roads starts out right here in the Hudson Valley.

The folks over at OnlyInYourState.Com travel throughout the United States to find quirky, unique stories about all the states. The New York crew found the windiest road in New York and it just so happens to come through and end in the Hudson Valley.

I automatically thought it would be the road heading up to the Minnewaska-Mohonk area. That one curve I still have nightmares about, riding on the bus to an away basketball game in Ellenville. Still scares me to this day.

However, OnlyinYourState says Route 97, or Hawks Nest, starting in Delaware County and sweeping through, Sullivan and Ulster counties is the windiest road in New York with over 100 curves.

They shared this amazing drone footage of Hawks Nest that's equal parts breathtaking and terrifying:

Have you driven on this Hudson Valley curvy road? Were you gripping the steering wheel like your life depended on it?
