A large number of Hudson Valley residents will need to find a new place to do their grocery shopping as two popular supermarkets are closing.

ShopRite of Tallman on Route 59 in Rockland County will close for good at the end of September, company officials confirmed to Hudson Valley Post. The location has been open for 43 years.
"After 43 years, ShopRite of Tallman, NY located at 250 Rte. 59 has made the very difficult decision to close the store in late September of this year," ShopRite stated. "The Inserra Family owners and operators of the ShopRite of Tallman appreciates the loyalty of our customers and the dedication of our store associates who have worked hard to serve the community for the past four decades."
A reason for the closure wasn't announced. Workers will be able to transfer to other Shoprites in the region, officials say.
"We will be providing all associates the opportunity to transfer from the ShopRite of Tallman to positions in other nearby Inserra ShopRite Stores," ShopRite stated.
Hudson Valley Post reported in July the ShopRite located in Newburgh on North Plank Road will also close at the end of September.
