My Sunday Spotlight Song this week was actually selected by my YouTube feed. I signed on today and for whatever reason YouTube selected Chris Stapleton and Dwight Yoakam performing "Seven Spanish Angels" at the 50th Annual CMAs to be the video at the top of my list. So after hitting play and enjoying the video below I decided to find out what else Dwight Yoakam has been up to in 2016 other than just sharing the stage with Chris and Chris' wife. Full disclosure I am a huge Dwight fan, have been since "Ain't That Lonely Yet", Dwight's CMA and ACM Single of the year in 1993.

2016 /2017 has Dwight out on the road with a swing through the northeast this winter which will include a stop at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania on February 3rd, tickets are still available. He is also celebrating a new album " Swimmin' Pools and Movie Stars ..." that includes a blue grass cover of "Purple Rain" a song made famous by the late artist Prince. Dwight told Wide Open Country that he was in the studio when he got the news that Prince had died and the version of the song sprung out of and impromptu studio jam. (Read full Story and hear Purple Rain here.)

Bonus "Country 90's Glam" this video may explain why people say Dwight wears the tightest pants in country.
