The event, which honored officers from the Dutchess County area who contributed to the Stop-DWI campaign, highlighted the beginning of the Thanksgiving Stop-DWI Crackdown initiative. Starting on Wednesday, Nov. 22 officers around New York state will be paying close attention to catch impaired drivers this holiday season.

As always the Stop-DWI campaign and Thanksgiving Crackdown is enforced to "discourage people from driving impaired, promote awareness, and keep the roadways safe."

The campaign, which ends on Sunday, Nov. 26, will have "multi-jurisdictional sobriety checkpoints and targeted saturation patrols throughout Dutchess County and includes the assignment of Drug Recognition Experts to assist in the identification and apprehension of those impaired by drugs other than alcohol."
