I remember the first time I ever bowled, it was with my church youth group and I wasn't very good. If I remember correctly, I spent more time at the pinball machines behind the lanes than on the lanes themselves. After college, I worked at Sears and since we all had weird working hours, the store had it's own bowling league. I was bitten by the bowling bug. It was fun, we laughed and laughed, and I started to get pretty good. I would go on to join a few more leagues and ended up buying my own bowling ball, bag, etc.

When I moved to the Hudson Valley, I bowled at the Hoe Bowl in Wappingers and Poughkeepsie, but since none of my friends bowled, I started doing it less and less. I think though, it is time to start back up again, especially after seeing the new Spins Bowl New York.

Diamond Hospitality Group has spent $2 million on extensive renovations at the former Hoe Bowl Mardi Bob lanes and the results are fabulous. The 50,000-square foot state-of-the-art facility features a 4,000 square-foot redemption arcade with over 50 games and a redemption store, as well as a 4,000 square-foot laser tag arena scheduled to open in March. The VIP lounge features a private room with leather furniture and large projection TV’s across all 8 lanes.

For private events, a large lounge and bar area offers an expansive drink and food menu provided by the in-house restaurant/caterer of Spins Bowl.  Guests in the bar and lounge area can also enjoy a game of billiards, air hockey, foosball or darts.

This would be a great place to host a birthday party, or any family celebration. You can rent the Family Lanes, the VIP Lanes or the entire center. Spins Bowl New York gives bowlers a minimum of 2 hours of bowling time, including Cosmic Bowling (glow-in-the-dark bowling) with a dance club atmosphere that rocks the center with a state-of-the-art sound system and laser lights, plus use of billiards, table tennis, a party room and Brunswick Bowl bowling equipment.

Brush off those bowling skills and I just might see you on the lanes.
