A strange object was seen spinning across the Hudson Valley on the night of November 4th, 2025.

What was it?

Was a UFO Spotted Flying Over the Hudson Valley?

The sun is setting much earlier now in the Hudson Valley and right after sunset on Tuesday night November 4th, many residents spotted something spinning across the night sky.

Hector Lopez was in Lake Katrine around 6pm when he caught an object, on camera, spinning across the sky.

The way the object moved had lots of people question what in the world it could possibly be. It was seen all over the region from Ulster, and Orange to Dutchess and Putnam counties.

Unidentified Flying Object in the Hudson Valley Identified

Comments on the video discussing what the object could have been ranged anywhere from aliens, to SPACE X satellites and another Jeff Bezos rocket.

Thankfully, all of those answers were incorrect.

According to Space.com, the UFO was actually Europe's "powerful Ariane 6 rocket." The rocked was launched at 4:02pm EST on November 4th from Kourou, French Guiana.

The rocket was carrying " Sentinel-1D Earth-observation satellite to low Earth orbit (LEO)."

The European Space Agency explains that the satellite will capture high-resolution radar images of Earth to be used by the agency and its partners.

Sentinel-1 Project Manager Ramon Torres said in a statement “My team is delighted to complete this key milestone for this groundbreaking mission" adding:

it’s the culmination of many years of excellent work to ensure that Sentinel-1 will continue generating high-quality radar images and data responding to the key scientific questions and challenges we face today.

The Hudson Valley's History with UFOs

While it may not have been a UFO this time there have been several other times when residents believed they saw space ships in the region.

There's a long history of sightings from Pine Bush in Orange County to the Miller Hill road area in Dutchess County. Pine Bush even has a nickname of The Area 51 of the East Coast.

Steelers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is said to have had an experience with a UFO in the Cornwall area after being drafted to the NFL in 2005.

In 2023 we caught this object on camera in Wappingers Falls:

Looks like a disk shaped object, not flying in a normal plane flying pattern right?
