Apple TV Begins Filming in The Hudson Valley in 2021

In March of 2021, word started to spread about a new series filming in the area. We didn't know much about it at the time, just that Ben Stiller was the director/executive producer and was called Severance.

Later we learned the show was for Apple TV + and starred Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken and, John Turturro.

Severance tells the stories of employees of Lumon Industries that have their memory "surgically divided between their work and personal lives." Strange events outside of Lumon start a wild journey for the employees to discover what really is going on at their job.

It's a mind bending drama, and darkly humorous, that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout every episode.

Hudson Valley Filmed Show Becomes Most Watched Apple TV + Series

A season of 2 of Severance was a no brainer for Apple TV+. The series 2nd season kicked off on January 17, 2025 and had fans buzzing.

So much so that recently, Financial Express reports that Severance is now reporting that Severance season 2 is the most watched series in Apple TV+ history. According to their website, Severance was watched for "a staggering 557 million minutes" by viewers.

Financial Express adds "this marks the best performance for an Apple TV+ show since Ted Lasso Season 3."
