A Saugerties man accused of impersonating a Price Chopper store manager and barricading himself in the staff break room early Friday morning faces new charges after two separate incidents in town over the weekend.

The Saugerties Police Department said David B. Pollack, 24, returned to the Ulster Avenue Price Chopper on Saturday at 10:37AM and acted in a bizarre manner that posed a safety concern for other patrons. Pollack refused to leave when staff asked him to, authorities said. He was taken into custody and charged with trespassing. The Village of Saugerties Court issued an order of protection preventing Pollack from returning to Price Chopper.

Then, in the early morning hours on Sunday, the Saugerties Police Department was again summoned to an incident involving Pollack. Police said Pollack unlawfully entered a neighbor's apartment, grabbed his waistband and told the neighbor he had a gun.

Pollack, in fact, didn't have a weapon, police said. Pollack was charged with menacing and criminal trespass, both misdemeanors, and remanded to Ulster County Jail on $1,000 bail. Orders of protection were issued for both the neighbor and a witness to the incident.

During the original incident at Price Chopper on Friday, police said Pollack wandered through the store with employee identification and told the overnight manager that he himself was the store manager.

Pollack locked himself in the employee break room and proceeded to do a back flip off a table when police gained access to the room, according to a press release from the Saugerties Police Department. Pollack accused officers of flipping him off the table and hurting him, but the officers' body cameras showed no one touched Pollack until after he landed on his back doing the flip, according to authorities.

Pollack will appear in Village of Saugerties Justice Court on Monday to answer to the charges.
