‘Rose Garden’ Singer, Country Star Lynn Anderson Dies at 67
Sad news from Nashville this afternoon. The Tennessean is reporting that Lynn Anderson died Thursday night at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center of a heart attack following a bout of pneumonia that hospitalized her after a recent trip to Italy.
She is best known for her 1970 hit '(I Never Promised you a) Rose Garden' which earned her a Best Female Country Vocal Performance Grammy Award as well as being named the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year for 1971. During the '60's, she was a regular on The Lawrence Welk Show and had a handful of hits before 'Rose Garden'.
According to The Tennessean, she was also a horse breeder and an award-winning, lifelong equestrian who became involved in therapeutic horse riding programs for children. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
