One of the bigger names from the Hudson Valley will be getting behind the wheel at the Indy 500 this weekend. Well, kind of.

Everyone's favorite villain and Rhinebeck resident, Jeffery Dean Morgan will be on hand at the Indy 500 race this weekend on May 28 riding in the Chevy pace car. The race will be televised on ABC and pre-race activities will start at 11am(ET).  Indianapolis Motor Speedway President J. Douglas Boles said in a press release "We’re honored to welcome Jeffrey Dean Morgan to IMS to drive the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Pace Car. He’s used to playing the ultimate villain in ‘The Walking Dead,’ but he’ll be an envied hero to millions of race fans around the world when he gets to lead the field to the green flag of the 101st Indianapolis 500 in such a beautiful Corvette.”

Negan, I mean  Mr. Morgan, will be riding in style on Sunday in the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Pace Car that can go 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds and is equipped with Z07 package and a 460-horsepower LT1 direct-injected V8 engine. I know nothing about cars, but that sounds fast.

JDM seemed pretty stoked about the race tweeting out yesterday:
