Racing is Back at Accord Speedway
Grandstands are OPEN and the dirt starts flying this Friday May 7th.
It's been an extremely long year of cancelations with COVID-19 and one of the Hudson Valleys big attractions has weathered the storm and has announced they are ready to fire up the engines and start flying around the dirt track in Ulster County.
According to the Accord Speedway Facebook page they are set to reopen the speedway this Friday May 7th for the 2021 racing season. I have to say that it's going to be great to hear the engines roaring around the dirt track this year. If you've never been to the races at Accord, I definitely recommend going at least one time to experience the sounds and of course the dirt flying everywhere.
If you plan on making to the trip into Ulster County for some family fun this season, the speedway did announce that they will be following specific CDC guidelines including guests wearing masks, social distancing and more. They also announced that they are required to take everyone temperature upon entry to the speedway and are only allowed to open with limited capacity.
The speedway does plan to have racing and other events for the 2021 season including the "Battle of the Bullring" on Tuesday May 11th, as long as guidelines are followed and the county allows it.
If you'd like more information on tickets, capacity numbers and the guidelines that need to be followed, please check the speedway out online here. The gates to the pit area at Accord will open Friday May 7th at 5 p.m. and gates for spectators will open promptly at 5:30 p.m. With the main event, dirt track racing getting underway this and every Friday night starting at 7 p.m.
