With mothers day fast approaching (5 shopping days left) we thought it would be fun to focus on country kids this week on the QTSO. The first one that came to mind was Thomas Rhett whose Dad, Rhett Akins had country hits of his own. Rhett Akins has recently won awards for song writing but it is son Thomas Rhett that has been unstoppable when it come to hit making.

Thomas Rhett - "Die a Happy Man" released in September of 2015 this upbeat fun tribute to Thomas' wife made it's way to number one on 3 different music charts. By the following May it had been certified 2X Platinum.

Rhett Akins - "That Ain't My Truck" released in May of 1995 went to number 3 on the charts and it was the third single off Rhett's "A Thousand Memories" album. As a side note I always have to share that I had the honor of meeting Rhett in 1995 and I got to give Rhett directions to the original Woodstock Site. (pre-GPS) He wanted to go there stand in the field and singing and play his guitar. Of course now we all know it as Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

Each week night we put two songs up for your vote. One of these songs will be the one you hear on your car radio, smart speaker or smart phone with the Wolf Mobile App as you head out of work and towards after work fun. If you have a song you want us to put up for the spin-off let us know in the comments below or through the Wolf App’s text studio.
