
New York Law Enforcement Agencies Mourn Loss of Sheriff
Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville has passed away.
The Hudson Valley is in mourning today as it has been confirmed that Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville has passed away, according to a post on the Putnam County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

The post stated,
"It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Sheriff Kevin McConville who passed away earlier this morning at his home with his loving family by his side. Arrangements will be forthcoming, at this time we ask you keep the Sheriff and his family in your thoughts and prayers."
The post didn't reveal any details regarding what happened, but Sheriff McConville, who was elected Putnam County Sheriff back in 2021, announced a few months ago that he would not be seeking reelection this year due to health concerns.
Kevin McConville Remembered
Sheriff McConville proudly served the Putnam County community for almost four years after spending the previous 30 years with New York's MTA Police Department, where he rose to the high rank of chief.
As news of Sheriff McConville passing began to spread many in the community posted condolences on the PCSO Facebook page saying, "Our sincere condolences," My thoughts and prayers are with Sheriff McConville’s greater Putnam County family," and "Sheriff Kevin McConville was a class act, had a warm heart, and was a professional leader...he always treated me and my community with deep compassion."
