
Arrest Made in Poughkeepsie Murder That Shocked the Community
A teenage murder suspect from Poughkeepsie, NY, has been arrested by law enforcement in Maryland.
According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, a multi-agency investigation has led to the arrest of an 18-year-old from Poughkeepsie, who allegedly shot and killed a Hyde Park, NY man.
Hyde Park Man Killed in Poughkeepsie, NY
On Friday, October 3, 2025, at approximately 5:20 p.m., the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department (CPPD) was called to respond to a reported shooting at the corner of Main Street and Garden Street in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Upon arrival, officers located one victim, later identified as 22-year-old Gabriel Mosca, of Hyde Park, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. First responders transported Mosca to a nearby hospital, where he later died, according to police.
CPPPD, along with the Technical Assistance Response Unit and Crime Scene Unit, immediately began an intensive investigation, which led them to identify a suspect.
Poughkeepsie Murder Suspect Arrested
Police didn't say when they identified the suspect, but 13 days after the homicide, police announced the arrest of 18-year-old Anthony D. Taylor of Poughkeepsie, NY. Police said that Taylor was arrested on October 16, 2025, in Maryland with assistance from the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the United States Marshals Service.

It's unclear where Taylor was located, but he was taken into custody without incident, according to a press release. He was charged with 2nd degree murder and is expected to be returned soon to Dutchess County to face charges related to the homicide.
Following the arrest, CPPD said,
"The arrest of Taylor in this violent murder is directly attributed to the determined and diligent effort put forth by numerous staff in the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. Further, resources and collaboration with state and federal partners led to the successful arrest and removal of a violent armed offender in our community."
Police also said that this remains an active investigation and is asking anyone with additional information to contact the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department at (845) 451-7577.
