Police say two people broke into a series of Hudson Valley homes and stole valuables while the homeowners were at work.

New York State Police in Middletown are investigating a series of residential daytime burglaries in the towns of Greenville and Wawayanda in Orange County.

The suspects target houses that appear to be empty while the residents are at work, officials say.

According to New York State Police, one person knocks on the front door to ensure that no one is home, while another person waits as the getaway driver. Once ensuring that the house is empty, the first person breaks the glass of a rear door and unlocks the door from the outside to make entry. The suspect then proceeds to the master bedroom and steals jewelry.

The suspect vehicle, pictured above, appears to be an older model light colored Subaru with out of state registration.

Anyone with information and/or leads should call Investigator Brad Natalizio at (845) 344-5351.
