With COVID-19 cases back on the rise, traveling for summer fun doesn't look like it's going to happen this year.

As many New Yorkers know there is a new travel advisory in place. Gov. Cuomo is asking that anyone who leaves NY and visits places such as: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennesee, Texas and Utah you will have to quarantine yourself for 14 days before you reenter the state.

If you were planning on going to any of these locations for a vacation you may want to think about a staycation instead.

Unfortunately, many of our options are closing for the summer. All the fairs will have to wait for next year, the Hudson Valley Renegades just canceled their season and Zoom Flume Water Park closed their pools.

Here's another one to add to the list.

Playland Park, AKA Rye Playland, in Westchester County has officially closed for its 2020 season.

In a statement posted to Facebook they said:

Playland Amusement Park is closed for the 2020 season due to the ongoing pandemic.
Have a safe and healthy summer and we will see you next year! Don’t forget, Playland Beach, Mini Golf, Boardwalk, Seaside Walk and the Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary remain open.

There are still things we can do around the Hudson Valley. We have so many drive-in theaters that you can still feel a bit of normalcy by physically going out to see a movie.

What are your plans this summer? Where are you going?
