Pet of the Week With the Dutchess County SPCA

Each week we highlight just a few of the animals available for adoption from the Dutchess County SPCA. This week, we'll start with the cuddly canines and then highlight the kitties. Logan.

Logan loves to meet new people, and cover them with wet, sloppy kisses. The closer he can get to people, the better, he might even end up in your lap if you let him. He has a tail that just won't stop wagging and a big smile just waiting to welcome people home... now all he needs is a home.

Lucas.

Lucas is a leash walking superstar! A perfect day for Lucas would start with a game of fetch in the park, followed by a play date with his doggie friends, and finish curled up on the couch with you and his favorite snack - peanut butter! Bud.

Bud is a super friendly boy, sure to melt your heart as he gives you endless kisses. Whether he's playing with toys, going for a walk, or just hanging out with you on the couch, this love-bug will be the perfect sidekick!

Cats

Lulu.

Big personalities can come in small packages! Lulu is almost 2 years old, but she doesn't look or act like it! This petite girl, is shy when you first meet her, but with patience she will let you pet her. Lulu really loves to have a cat companion to play with, it brings her out of her shell. Playtime is one of her favorite things and you'll be entertained watching her! She would also do better in a home with older children, as too much activity and noise may spook her.

Mandy.

Mandy is a beautiful tiger with a pretty white stripe going up her nose.  Although Mandy is gentle, she is not very happy here at the shelter. She just curls up and nuzzles herself under the blankets. Although cute, it's no life for a cat! Please come meet her if you want a sweet cat that needs a little coaxing. You won't be disappointed!

Pepsi.

Pepsi will make a great companion to any family that is looking for a laid back girl that appreciates a good dose of affection and also her own "me" time. Like all cats, she will love you unconditionally if you give her a home and treat her right!

Gretta.

Gretta is the sweetest little lady that would love to have people to call her own. She loves to welcome people into whatever room she is in with a friendly meow and a head bump. Gretta is quite petite and would love to sit in your lap for as long as you let her. She will follow you around and keep you company with whatever you are doing! Despite her age, she is very spunky and full of life
