Overturned Construction Equipment Snarls Mid-Hudson Bridge Traffic

An overturned piece of construction equipment ground westbound traffic on the Mid-Hudson Bridge to a halt Wednesday evening. The vehicle, which appeared to be tied to a trailer hitched to a truck, was splayed across both westbound lanes.

The New York Department of Transportation's 511NY.org traffic reporting website listed the time of the incident at 6:35PM -- during prime evening commute hours. The DOT report listed the following advisory:

Accident on Mid Hudson Bridge westbound Dutchess County Side (Poughkeepsie) to Ulster County Side (Highland) expect delays, overturned vehicle. Seek alternate route. Both lanes blocked on the west end, traffic being redirected onto shoulder
