
Orange County K9 Takes Home Top Award at Regional Competition
A local K9 took home a top spot at a regional competition based on their skill.
What is The USPCA PD1 Trials?
The United State Police Canine Association is a non-profit organization that collects donations that go to purchasing K9 bullet proof vests, K9 specific first aid kits and they help fund K9 educational training seminars.
Their main purposes, according to their Facebook page, are "designated to unite and standardize all agencies utilizing the service of the canine as an aid in the prevention and detection of crime."
Region 7 is made up of Canine Teams from across New York State and Connecticut.
Hudson Valley K9 Takes Home Top Award at Regional Trials
The Orange County Sheriff's Office took to social media to congratulation one of their K9s after a great showing at the United States Police Canine Association Region 7 trials in early October.
On Facebook the OC Sheriff's Office sends out a congratulations to K-9 Steele and his handler Deputy John VandenDooren.
The duo placed 3rd overall in the trails that were hosted by the MTA Police Department.
According to the post the "dynamic duo" dazzled and represent Orange County Sheriff's Office "with skill, precision and heart."
The Orange County Sheriff's Office goes on to add "Their performance reflects countless hours of training, trust, and teamwork."
