The leaves are starting to turn and there's a bit of chill in the air, which only means one thing. Spooky season is upon us.

New York is filled with history and legends, so of course some of them include a haunted past. In the next few weeks you'll see stories on your time line about haunted happening. Did you know you can have your own paranormal adventure all year round in the Hudson Valley?

If you grew up in the Hudson Valley, chances are you've heard of the Shanley Hotel in Napanoch.

James and Beatrice Shanley  opened the hotel in 1906. The Shanley was a popular stop years later for Thomas Edison,Eleanor Roosevelt and FDR. While it was a popular summer stop for years, The Shanley saw its share of heartbreak. Mrs. Shanley had three children and lost them all within nine months of life. Years later a barkeeps 4 year old daughter tragically fell down a well and died. There have been rumors about several murders as well.

As for hauntings, according to the website, chairs will rock, clocks will chime, hot and cold spots can be felt, people hear voices and children laughing and some even report of feeling lightheaded and out of breath when they enter the hotel.

Sounds like a five star haunted experience. Would you stay the night at The Shanley Hotel?
