Troop K issued a traffic alert on social media this afternoon to inform the public that a transformer will be relocated; therefore, traveling on some local roads in Dutchess County tonight beginning at 5:30 PM. They are asking that drivers prepare for delays, which could be lengthy.

Moving a transformer down the roads takes time. It also means that they have to use certain roads due to the size of the transformer. Typically, this can take a while to get from point A to point B, so it is best to avoid the area altogether.

Transformer Being Moved on Dutchess County Roads Will Cause Delays

According to the information released, the transformer will start moving at 5:30 PM, and the first road impacted will be 9G in Hyde Park. Then drivers using Crum Elbow Road can expect delays as the crew makes its way through Hyde Park toward Pleasant Valley, then Lagrange.

The transformer will be moving slowly; it is very large and will require crews to move with it in order to lift utility lines out of the way as it passes underneath. The entire route is listed here, but doesn't include the destination in Lagrange.
