New York State Nearly Tops List of Best Places to Raise a Family

New York is officially in the top 5 of the best places to raise a family!

If you are currently living in the great state of New York you might already be aware of this, New York has secured its place in the top 5 best states to raise a family list according to the folks at the personal finance company Wallet Hub.

Best Places to Raise a Family in the U.S.

The yearly study to try and find which states are the best to raise a family for 2024 is complete and some of its findings might surprise you. Studies similar to the one Wallet Hub conducted often look at various factors to come up with the best and most thorough list. This year's list used 50 key indicators and averaged them to rank each state including factors like housing affordability, family fun, health, safety, education, childcare, and a few others to show what state is the best to raise a family.

New York State Best Places to Raise a Family?

New York scored great marks in the majority of categories this year including being named the 3rd best state for family fun, and 7th best for housing affordability. Some may argue that New York is one of the more expensive places to buy, but according to this year's list, only 6 other states are more affordable than New York including Minnesota, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Washington, Rhode Island, and New Jersey.

After weighing all factors New York has been named the 5th best place to raise a family followed by Nebraska at #4, Minnesota at #3, North Dakota at #2, and the #1 place to raise a family in 2024 went to the state of Massachusetts. Arkansas, Alabama, West Virginia, and Mississippi wound up at the bottom of this year's list with New Mexico taking the 50th spot as the worst place to raise a family in the U.S.
