Lost Inflation Refund Checks in New York

According to PIX 11, the Department of Taxation and Finance has a policy in place to handle lost, stolen, or destroyed checks. If you haven’t received your refund check yet, or it was stolen, destroyed, or is uncashed, here’s what they recommend you do:

If your inflation refund check wasn’t cashed before it was lost, stolen, or destroyed, you will need to contact the Personal Income Tax Information Center at 518-457-5181. You will need a copy of your most recently filed tax return when you call.
