New Paltz Man Arrested in New Jersey Trying to Buy a 12-Year-Old
A New Paltz, New York man with awful intentions has been arrested and charged in New Jersey after allegedly trying to purchase a 12-year-old girl from her mother.
The New Jersey State Police have announced that they have arrested a New Paltz man and charged him with numerous crimes after he allegedly tried to buy a 12-year-old girl from her mother for the purpose of sexual intercourse according to a press release posted on the New Paltz Police Departments Facebook page.
New Paltz Man Tried to Buy Child in New Jersey
Earlier this year the New Jersey State Police began an investigation after learning that 33-year-old Alexander Boyd from New Paltz, NY was allegedly soliciting children for sex on the internet. Police didn't say how they were alerted to the claims but did say it happened in January 2024 as they were informed that Boyd had made arrangements with a female to purchase her 12-year-old daughter for sexual intercourse.
Police say that once Boyd agreed on a price for the young girl he traveled to New Jersey, rented a hotel room, and waited for the woman to deliver the child.
While awaiting their arrival police located Boyd and took him into custody and charged him with:
Lure Entice Child by Various Means
Aggravated Sexual Assault - Victim under 13
Endangering Sexual Conduct with Child
Human Trafficking-Holds, etc. Child
Prostitution- Engage in with Person Under 18 Minor
New Paltz Police Thankful
The New Paltz Police Department didn't have any part of the investigation involving Boyd but did say after speaking with representatives from the New Jersey State Police they felt it was necessary to inform the public of this "occurrence."
They also thanked NJSP for conducting a swift and thorough investigation and for their transparency and the sharing of information regarding this case.
