Fox Announces New Medical Comedy With a Familiar Twist

This is the big week in television where studios announce what shows fans can look forward to in the fall of 2025.

Fox announced they would be adding a hour-long medical comedy starring Josh Charles called Best Medicine. The show is based off the UK series Doc Martin.

Charles, known for his roles on The Good Wife, The Handmaids Tale, and Sports Night, will play Martin Best "a brilliant surgeon who abruptly leaves his illustrious career in Boston to become the general practitioner in a quaint East Coast fishing village where he spent summers as a child" according to Deadline.

Martin is "blunt and borderline rude beside manner" rubs the locals the wrong way which as most TV fans know, makes for a great story line.

Best Medicine is the first new scripted series ordered for the 2025-2026 season and will premier sometime this fall.

Newest Fox Show Will Film in the Hudson Valley

Hollywood on the Hudson will strike again this fall.

It looks like Best Medicine will be calling the Hudson Valley home. Choice Stages Management, located in Newburgh, shared on Facebook that they will be the home base for the new show.

Latest Netflix Hit Filmed All Across the Hudson Valley

Four Seasons, now streaming on Netflix, was filmed primarily in the Hudson Valley in the fall of 2024.

The Alan Alda remake has been in the Netflix Top 10 for the last few weeks since it premiered in early May of 2025.
