Cruise ships are basically small cities. They could be housing thousands of immigrants who were recently bussed to New York City from southern states.

According to United States Customs and Border Protection, almost 200,000 unique individuals were encountered near the Southwest border in July. That number has reached over 2 million for the year.

More and more immigrants seem to be making their way to New York City. Texas Governor Gregg Abbott began bussing immigrants from the south to New York City months ago and that program was ramped up last month. The Texas Tribune reported that over 7,000 migrants were sent to Washington D.C. and roughly 1,500 were sent to New York City.

New York City is Listed as a Sanctuary City.

This bussing program has created an influx of immigrants in the city. More and more immigrants seem to be making their way to New York City.

Mayor Eric Adams announced a possible solution to house immigrants coming to New York City in high numbers.

According to the New York Post, there is a shelter system in place but it cannot hold the number of immigrants pouring in. The Post reports that there are over 20 shelters opened but that still is not enough, In a recent interview Adams said he was considering housing the immigrants on cruise ships. He then stated that it was an option considered by former mayor, Mike Bloomberg.
