MTA Alcohol Ban This Weekend
Happy St. Patrick's Day weekend!
Sweeney's. Mahoney's. McGregors. Murphy's. All the Irish bars in the Hudson Valley are gearing up for a busy weekend filled with Corned Beef and Cabbage, bag pipers and of course beer.
Hudson Valley residents will be decked out in their favorite green shirts and shamrock accessories to celebrate their favorite Irish holiday.
Some may even head down to the city for the big show and the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
If you're planning on taking Metro North train services down to the city, then let us warn you...there will be an alcohol ban in effect.
In a press release the MTA announced that the Metro North along with LIRR will be banning alcohol from their trains on Saturday March 17th at 12:01am until Sunday March 17th at 5am. Any alcoholic beverages that are found on the trains will be confiscated.
In addition to the alcohol ban, both MTA and the LIRR will be adding additional trains in and out of the city. For more information about additional trains and the alcohol ban, visit MTA's website.
Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend and be safe!
