Motorcycle Hits Tree Head On in Ulster County

The operator of the motorcycle survived the crash, and was transported to Albany Medical Center. 

At 8:13 pm Monday evening, Saugerties Police responded to a vehicle crash, motorcycle verses tree in Mount Marion.

The investigation indicated that Zachary C. Dumond, 28, of Napanoch was operating a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle.

According to a press release, Dumond failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, running off the right shoulder and down an embankment, striking a tree head on.

Dumond sustained multiple injuries in the crash. He was treated at the scene by members of the fire department and ambulance.

Dumond was taken to Health Alliance in Kingston, where he stabilized. Dumond was then transferred to Albany Medical Center.

Saugerties Police are continuing their investigation, and charges are pending.
