The wet weather will continue for Tuesday and reminder of the week as a tropical air mass remains over the Hudson Valley and the region.  A cold front is staying off the west, while an area of high pressure remains to the east.

Weak disturbances and a moist southern flow will continue to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms into the area.  Tuesday during the day, looks very scattered, but more heavy rains expected for Tuesday night.  Wednesday during the day, that cold front will start to move into the region and we expect more rain and storms.

The humidity levels stay sticky until we get a break on Thursday.  You’ll notice the levels start to go down.  Meanwhile, night temps only get into the low 70’s.  Daytime temps reach into the mid 80’s.

Wet is the weather word for the week.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tuesday:  Mostly cloudy, high near 85.  A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm.

Tuesday night:  Mostly cloudy, low around 73.  A chance of showers and thunderstorms.  Some storms could produce more heavy rain.

Wednesday:  Cloudy, high near 80.  A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms move in after 9am.  Some storms could produce heavy rain.
