Miranda Lambert has been living in the spotlight for a number of years, but she says it's not her favorite place to be. While she's unapologetic about her personal life in songs such as "Vice" and "Mama's Broken Heart," that's about as far as she'd like to get into publicizing it.

"That’s my one time to be honest, my one chance," Lambert tells writer Holly Gleason in an interview for Hits Daily Double, "because I’m not going to put my troubles for everyone to see on social media, or interviews, or anything else."

Lambert's seen her fair share of coverage in the tabloids thanks to her marriage to -- and subsequent divorce from -- Blake Shelton, who was gaining fame outside of country music as a coach on The Voice at the time. She calls it "the Hollywood part of my life," and admits it was hard to adjust to the media obsession.

"I remember thinking, 'If we can focus on the music, the light’ll take the focus off all this other s--t that doesn’t matter,'" Lambert recalls, specifically of promoting her album Platinum in 2014. However, she admits that she's learned to work with the coverage.

"It felt like the more they wrote, the more they just made stuff up. Though, honestly, it all muddied the waters so much, you couldn’t tell what was true anymore," says Lambert. She later adds, "With social media, it’s a whole other thing. And it’s such bulls--t. I’m thankful for the drama of it all, because it gets sillier and sillier. They make up so many lies, no one can know the truth.

"The truth is it’s in my music," she continues, "if you listen close enough."

After marrying in 2011, Shelton and Lambert divorced in 2015. Lambert released her most recent album, The Weight of These Wings, in 2016.
