Police are hoping for your help as they continue to search for a Hudson Valley man who may have killed his wife.

On Monday, New York State Police and the town of Poughkeepsie Police Department asked the public for help in finding George Grogan in relation to a possible homicide investigation.

On Friday around 8 p.m., Town of Poughkeepsie Police received a call from Grogan's son who told police his father told him he killed his mother, Audrey Grogan.

Police searched the Grogan's home on Shamrock Circle in Poughkeepsie but didn't find anyone inside. Information was then obtained indicating that George Grogan may be a danger to himself, police say.

On Saturday around 7:30 p.m., an employee of Bear Mountain State Park found a car that police believe was driven by George Grogan.

Inside the vehicle was an unidentified dead woman. Police still haven't released the dead woman's identity, but friend's posting on social media say it's Grogan's wife, Audrey.

According to New York State Police, a 2010 Dodge Caravan belonging to the Grogan's, bearing NY registration ANM7621, was found near the Bear Mountain Bridge in the area of Anthony’s Nose trailhead.

This is a popular hiking area, and it is possible the Caravan or George Grogan were seen by visitors frequenting the trails, police say.

Grogan, 59, is described by police as being 5'6" weighing approximately 150-160 pounds with gray balding hair.

If anyone saw this individual or vehicle in the area on Saturday they are asked to please contact the New York State Police at (914) 769-2600. Please reference case # 9178276.
