Man Charged For Robbing Local JCPenny with Screwdriver
Police believe they found the man who robbed a local JCPenny with a screwdriver.
On Tuesday, Town of Wallkill detectives arrested 28-year-old Kenneth Niebuhr of Beacon after an investigation into a screwdriver robbery at a JCPenny.
An employee told police that on June 8, she was approached by a man who threatened her with a screwdriver and then stole cash from one of the store’s cash registers. The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Niebuhr was charged with robbery and petit larceny. He was arraigned in Town of Wallkill Court and remanded to Orange County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
