A man, possibly with an accomplice, tried to lure children into a car as they waited for their bus in the Hudson Valley. Hudson Valley Post was given photos of the vehicle.

On Friday just before 8 a.m., a man approached two young girls near the Planet Wings on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls and according to the children's mother, Erica Ramos, asked, "Would you girls like a ride to school?"

The man approached sisters as they were waiting for their bus to take them to Sheafe Road Elementary School in Wappingers Falls in a black or dark blue Subaru Forester, according to Ramos. The vehicle has a yellow New York license plate ending in 4263, Ramos said.

"As a mother, you would never think this would happen to your kids, and I am still in shock because this could have went bad," the girl's mother, Erica Ramos told Hudson Valley Post.

Ramos's oldest daughter told the stranger "No." However, the man refused to take no for an answer. He stayed next to the children until a parent told the man to leave the children alone, Ramos told Hudson Valley.

"I am so proud of my girls for saying no and not making any more contact with him," Ramos said. "I praised them all weekend and told them they did the right thing!"

After the man was told to leave, he drove up and picked up another man who was waiting near Planet Wings, according to Ramos who looked at surveillance video taken by a nearby business, Hudson Valley Tattoo Company. The Subaru then made a U-turn and then a left onto Route 9.

On Friday, the Wappingers Central School District sent out an alert about the incident. The man is described as being in his 40s with a beard.

Ramos provided Hudson Valley Post with photos of the vehicle that attempted stopped to speak with her children, they can be seen in the gallery below.

Police were able to get surveillance video from businesses in the area and are currently investigating. Anyone with information regarding this incident or related incidents should call the police.
